On the shore of Waterton Lake in Waterton Lakes National Park at the southern end of the Canadian Rockies, Alberta. I had been photographing a young deer and slowly followed it down to the pebbled lake edge where it fossicked for edible things. It's mother was feeding at a distance and maintained a watchful eye upon her offspring.
